Professional Development

The Agricultural Learning Center at the Fairgrounds provides the Warren Welsh Series of Professional Development Workshops for educators on site, or in your district. We can tailor a presentation concerning agriculture to your needs.

New Jersey is the Garden State and Sussex County has a rich heritage of farming, but many students have little knowledge about the source of their food. Farmers' markets, organic farming, school gardens and 'foodies' have put these sources into the news.

Workshops offer teachers, grades pre K-5, a look at agriculture in New Jersey and Sussex County, and demonstrate ways to share that information with their students. The workshops are developed by the professional staff of the Agricultural Learning Center.
